Maryland, USA | May 11–14, 2025 – Earlier this May, Source of Asia (SOA) had the privilege of participating in the SelectUSA Investment Summit 2025, the premier platform for international companies exploring expansion into the United States. Organized by the U.S. Department of Commerce, this high-level summit brought together over 5,000 attendees from 96 global markets, including investors, startups, economic development organizations (EDOs), and state representatives from across all 56 U.S. states and territories.

Why SelectUSA Investment Summit 2025?

As a strategic consulting firm deeply rooted in ASEAN and South Korea market expansion, sourcing, and investment support, we saw SelectUSA as the perfect place to:

  • Build direct relationships with U.S. state agencies and EDOs,
  • Showcase our capabilities in supporting companies entering the U.S. market, and
  • Represent the growing ambition of ASEAN-based businesses going global.

We believe market entry is not just about compliance or logistics—it’s about finding the right partners, the right region, and building a resilient, scalable strategy. SelectUSA provided a unique platform to do exactly that.

Representing ASEAN – Vietnam’s Strong Presence

SOA team was proud to join forces with the Vietnamese delegation, which was among the three largest ASEAN groups at this year’s SelectUSA Investment Summit—alongside Thailand and Indonesia. The delegation included 130 representatives from 80+ companies, with strong participation from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Most of the Vietnamese companies were startups and SMEs in tech, F&B, and manufacturing—many of whom are now actively exploring U.S. expansion, partnerships, and cross-border funding opportunities. Their energy, ideas, and global mindset were incredibly inspiring.

Our Role & Mission at the SelectUSA Investment Summit

Representing Source of Asia, Huong Tran – our Head of Sourcing & Supply Chain Consulting – took part in SelectUSA with a clear mission:

  • Connect with Vietnamese and ASEAN businesses seeking to expand to the U.S. and explore how we can support their outbound journey with strategic market entry, supply chain consulting, and investment readiness.
  • Raise awareness of our own brand across U.S. states & companies, and among global investors.
  • Open doors for long-term partnerships with American economic development organizations looking to attract FDI from Southeast Asia and South Korea.

We had the opportunity to hold high-quality conversations with multiple U.S. state representatives, learn about investment incentive programs, and identify industries actively seeking international partnerships—especially in manufacturing, tech, and sustainable supply chains.
