Objective: Ensuring a continuous supply of wood logs from Europe with PEFC certification.
Project background:
HL started their sawmill a few years ago, supplying their Japanese and European clients in high-demanding requests and very strict conditions. Their clients want to have wooden panels with high quality and sustainable PEFC certification.
They have worked on it and ended up with poor results because of a very strong competition in purchase of logs from other markets. Moreover, the international fraud in the wood industry remains at a very high level and HL feels less secure when working directly with the suppliers who do not have their sales representative office in the local area.
Solutions:
We have acted immediately with a purchasing plan for the client and managed to get a large volume of logs for the whole season. With our team in rich experience of logs inspections and purchasing in France, most well-known country with PEFC certified forest, we have kicked-off the project in order to match with client’s demand even before the cutting season opened:
- Qualification and selection of the right wood harvesters.
- Collecting logs from the finest PEFC certified forest of France.
- Arranging weekly inspection of logs and ensuring that the quality remain the same before loading.
- Managing the inland transport from forests to the port and from the French port to Vietnamese ports.
Result:
We have successfully delivered for the past 3 years the required volume with expected quality and an evolution of 20% annual increase in their demand to us. According to the client, the key factor of success in business is to work with reliable partners with a clear long-term strategy and the high quality in after-sales service. The client will receive a more secured deal and will not worry about the fraud.
