To provide comprehensive support and become the buying office for a reputable French company special supplying site equipment, including wood-based, plastic, and steel products.
Project Background:
Initially engaging with Source of Asia (SOA) through our Sourcing Mission team, the French company sought assistance in procuring wood-related products, leading to SOA assuming the role of their buying office. Entrusted as their reliable buying office, we took on the responsibility of fulfilling their procurement needs.
Challenge:
During the arrival of their first shipment at the port of discharge in Feb 2024, Belgium customs suddenly demanded a special requirement for the wooden product that was being imported to EU, and must be explicitly mentioned on the Phytosanitary Certificate. This unforeseen requirement posed a significant challenge for our client.
Solutions:
In response to the unexpected requirement, SOA swiftly coordinated with the factory and engaged with the Vietnamese Plant Protection Department. Within a two-week timeframe, we proactively advocated for and obtained a valid Phytosanitary certificate that complied with the specified EU regulation.
Results:
Our proactive efforts yielded success as we secured the necessary certificate to present to Belgium customs. Consequently, the container was promptly released and delivered to our client’s warehouse, ensuring minimal disruption to their operations and maintaining our commitment to facilitating smooth international transactions.
