Objective: to identify potential manufacturing sources for both existing products and new opportunities through subcontracting, OEM partnerships, or joint ventures, considering market consumption habits and leveraging supply chain advantages.

Project Background:

Group SEB, a renowned company specializing in small kitchen and domestic appliances to be distributed worldwide, engaged the expertise of Source of Asia (SOA) to identify potential sources of manufacturing through subcontracting, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreements, or joint ventures. The objective was to explore existing products and new opportunities while considering market consumption habits and supply chain advantages.

Solutions:

To address Group SEB’s objectives, SOA team implemented a comprehensive solution that spanned multiple regions and facets:

  • As in collabration with partner Vallians, we conducted a strategic sourcing mission in ASEAN countries (Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines), Mexico, and Eastern Europe. This initiative involved thorough market research and analysis in each country to identify potential manufacturing partners that aligned with Group SEB’s requirements. The mission encompassed evaluating the capabilities, capacities, and quality standards of local suppliers.
  • SOA also conducted a detailed supply chain analysis for the distribution of Group SEB’s products to Europe and the USA. This analysis included assessing the efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain, identifying potential bottlenecks or areas for improvement, and exploring tax advantages or incentives that could enhance the overall logistics process.

 Results:

As a result of the collaboration between Group SEB and SOA, the following outcomes were achieved:

  • SOA delivered a comprehensive 3 final market report. These reports provided Group SEB with an in-depth insights into the local market dynamics, manufacturing capabilities, labor costs, regulatory environment and potential partnerships.
  • We successfully identified qualified suppliers listing comprising over 150 potential manufacturing partners. This extensive list allowed Group SEB to explore a wide range of subcontracting, OEM, or joint venture possibilities in different regions.

Through the partnership with SOA, Group SEB gained a strategic advantage in identifying potential manufacturing sources and optimizing its supply chain for global distribution. Equipped with in-depth market reports and a vast network of qualified suppliers from SOA, Group SEB is well-positioned to seize new opportunities, enhance production capabilities, and deliver exceptional small kitchen and domestic appliances to customers worldwide.
