As we reflect on the vibrant month of September 2024, Source of Asia recall the moment we were having an honor to host and welcome the Alabama Department of Commerce’s representatives in Hanoi, Vietnam. Despite the challenges posed by Typhoon Yagi, the State of Alabama is still dedicated to enhancing U.S.-Vietnam trade relations shone through, showcasing Alabama’s commitment to fostering international partnerships.

Moreover, Source of Asia’s Market Expansion Team embarked on this trip with clear objectives: to strengthen trade ties and introduce Alabama businesses to the dynamic Vietnamese market. Vietnam’s impressive economic growth, boasting an annual GDP increase of 6-7%, made it a prime target for Alabama’s expanding international outreach. 

Highlights from the Alabama Welcome Dinner and U.S Embassy Briefing in Hanoi

Kicking off the visit was the State of Alabama’s Welcome Dinner, where Alabama Delegates mingled with Vietnamese business leaders and U.S. embassy officials. This event provided a valuable platform for networking and fostering conversations about potential collaborations, highlighting the economic possibilities that exist between Alabama and Vietnam.

A significant moment during the trip was the briefing at the U.S. Embassy. The Alabama Delegates received crucial insights into Vietnam’s economic policies and regulatory landscape. This knowledge equipped them with the necessary tools to navigate the complexities of the Vietnamese market, making it easier for the State of Alabama businesses to establish a foothold.

The trip also featured a formal reception at the Chief of Mission’s residence. Here, the Alabama Delegates engaged in meaningful discussions with high-ranking officials and industry leaders, emphasizing the mutual goals of innovation and growth. This gathering served to reinforce the commitment to nurturing long-term relationships between The US and Vietnamese enterprises.
