Source of Asia (SOA) is proud to deepen its collaboration with the Investment & Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, by officially joining as a member. This milestone reflects our long-standing commitment to helping Vietnamese businesses connect with international markets.

Summary
  • Vietnam’s handicraft exports are driven by eco-friendly demand, e-commerce growth, and tariff reductions under free trade agreements.
  • The sector is large, with 3 million artisans across 5,400 villages exporting to 163 markets. However, it still needs to improve branding and sustainability compliance.
  • SOA’s partnership with ITPC supports this transition, helping businesses adapt to global trends and capture new opportunities.

Speaking at ITPC’s Export Event

Recently, SOA joined as a speaker at the workshop “Accelerating Exports of Contemporary Lifestyle Products to Europe.” The event was organized by ITPC Vietnam, CCIFV, and ABVietFrance. The session focused on new opportunities for Vietnamese exporters, with particular emphasis on lifestyle and handicraft products – a sector where global demand is increasingly driven by sustainability, authenticity, and digitalization.

Mrs Tra Le joins ITPC Vietnam Export Seminar 2025

Mrs. Tra Le, SOA’s Market Expansion Director, shared on-the-ground experiences and perspectives in the ITPC Vietnam Export Seminar 2025

Mrs. Tra Le, our Market Expansion Director, shared practical experiences that guide local businesses in their export journeys.

At the ITPC Vietnam workshop, she spotlighted three key trends reshaping Vietnam’s handicraft export landscape:

  • A surge in green consumption. Consumers in both the EU and the U.S. are gravitating toward eco‑friendly designs made from rattan, bamboo, and other sustainable materials.
  • The power of e‑commerce. Nearly half of handicraft businesses now sell online, with digital sales rising 18 % in 2024. Platforms like Amazon and Alibaba are becoming major channels for export.

In addition, she noted that Vietnamese handicraft businesses must build brands that blend modern design with cultural heritage while meeting sustainability standards. Mrs. Tra Le pointed to brands like Hanoia and Kilomet109. They excel in cultural identity and brand building for export activities.

At SOA, we have always believed in Vietnam’s strong potential as a growing international trade hub. Our collaboration with ITPC will allow us to:

  • Support Vietnamese companies in scaling to global markets.
  • Highlight emerging sectors such as lifestyle products and handicrafts.
  • Provide international partners with trusted local expertise and connections.

“We are in the same mission to drive Vietnamese businesses into global markets, and I find immense satisfaction to be part of this collective effort,” said Mrs. Tra Le.

By joining ITPC and highlighting these market drivers, SOA helps Vietnamese handicraft exporters tap into the rising demand for green, culturally rooted products. In addition, we support them in developing digital and design-savvy strategies to thrive under free trade frameworks.

Looking Ahead

As a result, with more than 3 million artisans across 5,400 craft villages and exports to 163 markets, Vietnam’s handicraft sector is a vibrant part of the cultural economy.

SOA’s collaboration with ITPC will help these communities build internationally recognized brands. At the same time, we aim to blend cultural authenticity with modern design and maintain compliance with sustainability standards.

Furthermore, SOA is better positioned to bridge Vietnamese creativity with international opportunities. This partnership supports our mission to help businesses grow in Vietnam, ASEAN, and beyond.

Whether you are a Vietnamese exporter seeking new markets or a global investor exploring ASEAN, Source of Asia is here to support your journey.
