France Cambodia business forum was organized on 9 and 10 June, 2022 by French Foreign Trade Advisors and CCI France – Cambodia. Participation in this forum marked the return of Source of Asia in face-to-face meetings after a long time absence due to the Covid-19 circumstance. Together with more than 200 participants from France and surrounding countries, we were very happy to take this opportunity to connect and share our networks through many different activities from morning to night during the event.
Before the D-day
The day before, Source of Asia team attended the annual regional meeting which was held by the OSCI and French Tech networks. It was nice to meet a big part of our OSCI partners during the first edition of Université Voix du Monde. During this meeting, we also had the honor to meet and exchange with Mr. Bun Sarakmony, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Trade of Cambodia.
Workshop on Financing with Bpifrance
Opening the forum was an interesting workshop on financing with Bpifrance. During this workshop, our team had the chance to learn more about the solutions offered by the French Government and its operators to French companies abroad.
Opening Plenary – Networking
At lunchtime, we got to join in the Lunch Networking at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra. Here we learned about Cambodia’s comparative advantages as well as the new Investment Law with His Excellency Mr. Sok Chenda Sophea, Minister and Secretary-General of the Council for the Development of Cambodia.
On the same day, we joined multiple mini-conferences about promising sectors of the Cambodian economy. We then ended the first day of the forum by joining a final activity where all the participants gather in a networking evening at the Council for the Development of Cambodia
Privileged economic relationship
Continuing the forum, on the second day, we had the chance to get to understand more about the links of the close economic relationship between France and the Cambodian authorities (Ministries of Economy and Finance, Trade, Transport, Foreign Affairs, Industry, Science and Technology, Land Management and Construction…).
Business connection
Source of Asia took advantage of joining the event to present ourselves by sharing our business story around a flexible outdoor lunch at Aquation Office Park. Through this forum, we connect with local businesses with whom we are forwarding to create, perhaps, partnerships, commercial relationships, or franchises.
Thanks to this forum, we have gained a lot of information and connected with many companies.
